At Virginia Samford Theatre, we believe theatre begins the moment a patron walks through our doors. We are seeking a welcoming, organized, and dependable House Manager to help lead front-of-house operations throughout our Centennial Season.

This part-time position is ideal for someone who loves theatre, enjoys working with people, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. The House Manager serves as the primary front-of-house leader during performances, helping create a safe, professional, and memorable experience for patrons, volunteers, and staff.

This position is intended as a season-long commitment throughout our Centennial Season. Because the House Manager plays a critical role in front-of-house operations during performances, individuals in this role may have limited availability to participate as performers in productions during the season.

Responsibilities include:

• Coordinating ushers, bartenders, and security staff

• Managing lobby and audience operations before, during, and after performances

• Overseeing concessions and front-of-house setup

• Ensuring theatre spaces are clean, prepared, and guest-ready

• Communicating with box office and production staff as needed

• Supporting patron accessibility and audience experience 

• Ensure the theatre is properly secured at the end of each performance, including locking doors and setting the building alarm system.
