Auditions at Virginia Samford Theatre

  • Online Submissions: Submissions will be our primary method for seeing auditioning talent. Open online submission links and their deadlines can be found below. Please have your online audition form (including headshot, resume, and video) submitted before the posted deadline and be sure the file names of each item contain your name.

  • In-person Auditions: We will continue to hold limited timeslots for in-person auditions. Scheduled in-person audition days can be found below. Simply sign-up for a time in advance and send us your headshot and resume, then arrive at the theatre about 10 minutes beforehand on the day of auditions.

  • Callbacks: Creative teams will review online submissions and consider in-person auditions before sharing callback information. The callback dates can be found below. Actors will be given callback material to review before the callback time. In the event someone is unable to attend callbacks, we may schedule an additional callback time or accept a video callback.

  • Casting: After callbacks are held, casting decisions will be made, and casting notices will be sent to all auditionees. In the event you are cast, you will also receive an offer and have one week to accept or decline your role. In the event you are not cast, we may circle back to you about casting in the event someone declines their role, and we, of course, highly encourage you to audition for us again in the future.

All roles are paid. Birmingham/Central Alabama area casting only - We cannot offer housing or reimburse/cover travel expenses for non-local talent. The Virginia Samford Theatre encourages people of all races, ages, ethnicities, abilities, and gender identities to submit. The VST will remain committed to EDIA (Equity, Diversity, inclusion, and Accessibility) for all.
